The Texas A&M University Health Science Center Opioid Task Force is hosting a free screening of the Showtime docu-series The Trade.

The event is Wednesday, September 26 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Forum Theater at Rudder Tower at Texas A&M.

The series is an in-depth look at the opioid crisis facing America from all angles, including the drug lords in Mexico, U.S. law enforcement and those addicted. Following the screening, a panel of experts will discuss the opioid crisis in Texas and nationally.

The Texas A&M University Health Science Center Opioid Task Force was established January 2018. It has representatives from all five Health Science Center components (dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health) as well as the Texas A&M Coastal Bend Health Education Center.

The Texas A&M University Health Science Center Opioid Task Force serves as a focal point for research, education and practice issues critical to addressing the opioid epidemic and its impact on persons, families, communities and the health care system.
