Man arrested for deadly robbery in Hearne

HEARNE, Tex. (KBTX)- Authorities have confirmed the arrest and indictment of a man they say pulled the trigger during a deadly robbery this year in Hearne.

James Rufus Jones III was arrested last month in Robertson County, according to documents obtained by KBTX.

The 27-year-old is accused of shooting Calvin Jamal Corona during a robbery on the evening of Saturday, August 26th in the 800 block of Riley Street.

Jones has been indicted by a Grand Jury on one charge of capital murder, according to Robertson County District Attorney Coty Siegert.

The Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation. No other details about the case are being released at this time.
