FRANKLIN, Tex. (KBTX) - William Rabe, 46, is being charged with murder after investigators say he shot another man at close range.
According to Robertson County Sheriff's investigators, the victim is Terry Darnell, Jr., 35, from Franklin. Rabe and Darnell were at a crawfish party Saturday when they started to fight.
According to court documents, the two men started to fight around 1:00 a.m. Sunday. Rabe was asked to leave by the property owner, but he returned 10 minutes later. That's when investigators say he shot Darnell from about 10 feet away.
According to Sheriff Gerald Yezak, the party was on private property owned by the owner of the Franklin Safari Park. The incident did not happen at the actual park.
Yezak said that both Rabe and Darnell were from Franklin and knew each other.
Rabe is being held in the Robertson County Jail on $500,000 bond.
