BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A man behind bars in Brazos County is looking at new charges for making money off his girlfriend, who worked as a prostitute.

Bryan Police say 34-year-old Marcus Ealoms has been promoting his girlfriend's prostitution since last August.

Officers met her at a local hotel room after seeing an ad on in September. She cooperated with investigators and let them download text messages between them.

Ealoms was arrested for an evading charge in October. Authorities say he placed almost 2,000 calls from jail to his girlfriend between October and February 6.

Ealoms was monitored discussing her prostitution and telling her to put that money in his jail account.

She deposited about $5,000 between December and January. Ealoms is now looking at an additional charge of promoting prostitution.
