BURLESON COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX) - An Austin County man missing since Wednesday has been found dead.
Russell James Ensey, 24, was last heard from on December 26 around
The Burleson County Sheriff's Office confirmed Friday around 12:30 p.m. that Ensey's body was found in an area off of FM 60E and FM 3058.
"We appreciate all of the people that have assisted with this search," read a statement from Burleson County Investigator Christine Labertew.
On Thursday, Ensey's mother, Lisa Grimes, said her son was last seen in the Snook area off FM 60.
“Nobody’s heard from him since he called a friend to come get him," said Grimes. "That was the last time anybody has talked to him."
The family said Russell took off walking after an argument with his fiancée, but they said it was uncharacteristic of him not to keep in contact with friends or family.
“I know my son,” said Grimes. "He would not let me worry; I fear that something has happened."
Since Ensey was reported missing, friends, family and community members searched the area where he was last seen. Thursday morning, law enforcement officers joined in by bringing a K-9 unit and patrol cars to help with the search.
Grimes on Thursday, before news of his death, said she was ready for her son to come home.
“I just feel like I’m in a bad dream and I just want to wake up, for him to tell me, 'Mom, you’re making a big deal; why are you doing this? I’m okay',” said Grimes. "I just want to hear him say that to me."
An autopsy has been order for Ensey's body.
His funeral arrangement have been scheduled. A viewing will be held on Thursday January 3rd from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be on Friday January 4th at 10 a.m. They will be held at Callaway Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
