Mother and daughter killed in Hearne house fire remembered
A mother and daughter were remembered Thursday during a funeral held at Hearne High School.
Wanda Vinton, 35, and her 15-year-old daughter Cheyanne Elizabeth Vinton were killed in a house fire early Friday morning.
Sandra Wright, a parent of Cheyanne’s classmate, says breaking the news to her children was terribly difficult.
“When I told my oldest daughter it was Cheyanne, she was like 'no!'” said Wright.
Investigators say both were inside of a home they had just moved into a day earlier when the trailer caught fire.
Hearne Police did confirm that there was a domestic disturbance call at the home about an hour-and-a-half before the fire. A suspect in that incident was later detained. No charges have been filed against the person at this time.
Thursday, both women were remembered for their kind spirits and comforting personalities.
“Times like this, we come together, “said Wright. “They will be missed, truly missed.”
At this time no cause of the fire has been determined. We reached out to law enforcement for an update to the case, but have not yet heard a response.
