Skywriter MD is a virtual medical scribe to help healthcare providers take notes in real-time.

The company's current location is in Colorado but its second location will be launched in the Brazos Valley. The company aims to hire 50 people initially, and then add 150 more within the next 18 months.

Skywriter MD’s founder and CEO, Tracy Rue, says his goal is to assist health providers with documentation process when seeing patients.

"Remove the computer between them and their patients," Rue said. "Allowing physicians to focus on their patients versus pointing and clicking."

Rue says coming to the Brazos Valley was an easy decision.

"The talent level," Rue said. "The demographic we like to employ is right here."

Skywriter MD already met with Blinn College and Texas A&M University to help recruit employees.

Vice President of Administration, Elaine Widner adds they are looking for a range of talent.

"Anyone who wants to go to the medical field," Widner. "Anyone in pre-health, pre-nursing, pre-PA, pre-Med me.

Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation's President and CEO, Matt Prochaska says these employment opportunities will benefit our community.

"As they grow their business here there should be a great impact on the local economy," Prochaska said.

Skywriter MD is set to be located at Aggieland Park right off Raymond Stozer Parkway.
