Northgate Juice Joint hosting natural perfume making class
Have you ever made your own perfume? There is going to be a class this weekend at Northgate Juice Joint where you can learn how to make natural perfumes using essential oils and dried flowers.
The idea is that by the time you leave the class, you'll have the knowledge to make natural fragrances on your own.
"Part of this is a fun class. You can pretty much do whatever you want, make your own fragrances. You can't make a mistake in it and you'll learn as you go," explained Lisa Bradway, owner of Northgate Juice Joint.
Bradway has a passion for teaching others, especially when it comes to letting people know about potentially harmful chemicals in products that we use and food that we eat.
"I am a big believer of keeping chemicals out of everything as much as possible We are trying to do something here so you know what is going into your product. Perfumes are not a regulated industry in the sense that they do not have to tell you what ingredients are in them," explained Bradway.
Bradway suggests checking out your perfumes, cleaning products, etc. on the Environmental Working Group website. The website provides information on the chemicals found in over 74,000 products. There is a link to it under the related links section of this page.
The class will go over how to blend essential oils and where to buy natural perfume ingredients locally.
The class is going on Sunday, April 8th from 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. The class is $5 and anyone is welcome to attend.
You can RSVP on their Facebook page or by calling Northgate Juice Joint at 979-704-6010.
Northgate Juice Joint is located at 215 University Drive in College Station.
