Crews respond to overturned 18-wheeler in Grimes County

Emergency crews in Grimes County responded to the scene of an overturned 18-wheeler Wednesday morning that had one person trapped, according to the Grimes County Sheriff.

The crash happened near the intersection of Hwy 90 and FM 39 near the Singleton community.

According to Sheriff Don Sowell, the driver is now out and is in the hospital in stable condition.

The Department of Public Safety says the driver was trapped up to an hour and a half. The crash happened when the concrete load shifted on a turn and rolled over.

Multiple fire departments, including Bryan Fire, are assisting in the situation.

You are advised to avoid the area for now.
