This week in Pet Talk, we're talking about ACL tears in large dog breeds.
You often hear about ACL tears among human athletes but dogs can have them as well. They're often caused by a degenerative change and happen little by little.
Veterinary resident Melissa MacIver says it can happen in large dogs as young as 2-years-old. Labradors, rottweilers, German shepherds and golden retrievers.
Veterinarians will likely prescribe a medication for dogs who have a torn ACL.
Watch the video above for details on treatment and what to look out for in your dog.
