COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - Texas A&M University Police are looking for the driver of a stolen truck in Bryan.

Authorities say the search started with a traffic stop at 8:59 a.m. Tuesday. A UPD officer tried to stop a vehicle, which drove off and crashed into another vehicle at George Bush Drive and FM 2818. Two people in that second vehicle were injured and taken to CHI St. Joseph Health in Bryan.

The passenger in the suspect vehicle is being detained and questioned by University police. The driver of the suspect vehicle ran off and, according to officers, stole a Dodge utility truck. Officers say the driver ditched the truck on Evergreen Circle in Bryan.

Northbound lanes on FM 2818 were closed for a short time, but have since reopened.

According to investigators, there was marijuana found in the suspect's vehicle.

University police say the driver was last seen on Evergreen Circle. They ask that if anyone sees a suspicious person to call police.
