President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush will be honored as part of the 2019 Aggie Muster.

According to the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University, their names will be included on the 2019 Worldwide Roll Call, and both will be called at the campus Muster ceremony.

Although Barbara Bush passed away before the 2018 Muster, the family elected to defer her recognition at Aggie Muster to 2019, when loved ones will have the opportunity to participate. It is common for families to elect to defer when a death occurs immediately before the annual Muster, according to the Association.

President Bush and his wife attended the 1993 Aggie Muster in the G. Rollie White Coliseum following the passing of a close friend, according to an August 1993 copy of Texas Aggie magazine.

The couple's gravesite opened on Saturday to the public on the grounds of the Bush Library and Museum.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
