Probiotics proven to reduce cough and cold in kids
Taking probiotics could keep your kids healthy and in school this winter.
Recent studies show, the living dietary supplements have been proven to be effective in improving gut and immune health.
While this is a positive for adults, it holds big benefits for kids as well.
"Those that took a probiotic supplement on a daily basis had a 50% decrease of coughs and colds during the winter and also a 30% decrease in absenteeism from school," said Dr. Nigel Plummer.
Probiotics can be found in certain foods like yogurt, but Dr. Plummer says taking an actual supplement will increase their effect.
If you do take the supplements, you should do so during a meal.
