Prosecutors preparing response to Gabriel Hall death row appeal
The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office is working on its response to an appeal in the Gabriel Hall murder case.
In 2015, Hall was sentenced to death for the 2011 murder of Edwin Shaar Jr. in College Station.
Hall was 18 when he killed Shaar, and said he wanted to do it because he was angry and unhappy with his own life.
According to prosecutors, Hall’s appeal is automatic because of the death sentence. Prosecutors say it could take several months to get their response in front of the Texas Criminal Court of Appeals.
