Public invited to George H.W. Bush stamp, birthday event on Wednesday

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- On Wednesday, June 12, the USPS will be issuing a Forever stamp honoring George H.W. Bush and the Bush Library and Museum will honor the 95th birthday of President Bush and the 94th birthday of Barbara Bush with a birthday celebration.

The first day of issue event for the stamp is free and open to the public. The event will take place at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Dedication ceremony attendees are encouraged to RSVP at usps.com/georgehwbush.

The Bush Birthday Tribute festivities run from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on June 12 and include birthday cake, Blue Bell Ice Cream, popcorn, and Pepsi products. Special thanks to Blue Bell Creameries and Pepsi for providing refreshments.

Guests are encouraged to wear their crazy socks and pearls to honor the lives and legacies of President and Mrs. Bush. There is no cost to participate in the events in the rotunda, but regular museum admission applies to the museum.
