Smartphone app developed in Bryan helps users find work quick

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - There’s a new way to find work in Bryan and College Station, and it’s right at your fingertips. An app developed in Bryan is giving people an opportunity to choose their hours. Right now, the hours and positions are at Kyle Field during Aggie game days.

Robal only launched two months ago, but word is spreading that the app is a quick way to make money.

"For the employer, they're finding people that they need, for the shifts they need to fill quickly, but for the 'Roballer', they get to make money their way,” said Emily Fahner, Robal’s Executive Marketing Director.

The app is partnering with Levy Restaurants, and it posts open shifts at Kyle Field during home football games.

"Robal has a profile picture of the person you're hiring. You see their skills, you set the wage, you set the hours. So, it's really convenient for businesses that are looking for people that just need to pick up work," Fahner said.

There are positions like food runners, cashiers and concession stand attendants. Users say they are opting for the convenience of the app versus a regular job search.

"It doesn't take a week to get hired. It's pretty much like a daily pay, too. You don't have to wait two weeks to get paid," said Eric Price, a Robal user.

The app is giving people experience in different areas, without feeling obligated to stay in a long-term position.

"It's a day and age now where people want to make money, but they don't want to be confined to one job," Fahner said.

Robal is looking to work with more companies who want to fill positions. The app is free and available for download on Apple and Android phones. You can find a link to their website in our Related Links section.
