SHSU employee pleads guilty for theft, misuse of more than $45K

MONTGOMERY, Tex. (KBTX) - A Sam Houston State University employee pleaded guilty to theft and misuse of more than $45,000.

Terri Jaggers will serve three days in jail for the third-degree felony after investigators say she used money intended for her non-profit organization, Orphan Care Solutions of Texas, to buy personal items for her home, a cruise, trips for her and her husband, and jewelry.

Orphan Care Solutions of Texas is a charity that helps orphan children.

Jaggers will also pay a $1,000 fine and will serve seven years on probation. She will also be ordered to pay over $43,000 in restitution and give the remaining $47,000 in Orphan Care Solutions funds to Montgomery County CPS Board.
