A smartphone app that is designed to reward safe drivers is expanding in the Brazos Valley.

Save2Save is meant to keep drivers off their phones and their eyes on the road. For each minute you don't look at your phone, you earn points that will allow you to cash them in for deals at local businesses.

The app was created by College Station resident, Marci Corry, who says they are now expanding their service to Madisonville.

Before making the decision, Corry says she was looking at expanding the service to the local Spoons Yogurt stores.

The stores are owned by Carter Enterprises, a Madisonville based company.

"We were going to launch next to Waco but I thought why well why not? If we have such a neat business that cares so much about the local community. Let's go for it," said Corry.

Safe drivers can also get deals at Mackenzie's BBQ, Texas Legends and the Woodbine Restaurant and Hotel.

Corry says they are also adding a couple of new businesses from the Bryan/ College Station area including Marco's Pizza, Madden's and the LaSalle Hotel.

Tuesday night, a launch party will be held at the Texas Burger in Madisonville from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Anyone who has the Safe2Save app will get a free ice cream cone.
