Salvation Army in need of volunteers to sort gifts before distribution

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - The Salvation Army is asking for your help as they begin to process and pack the gifts donated for their Angel Tree Program.

Over 2,000 children are part of the program. The community has provided gifts for almost all of them, but about 1,000 gifts still need to be sorted before distribution day on December 20.

The Salvation Army is asking for more volunteers to help pack and sort them.

“The need for us to have volunteers come in here is how we’re going to achieve the deadline. In year’s past, the community has always been very generous, but we have more kids on our Angel Tree this year than we’ve had in preview years, and now that’s starting to show,” said Paul Ryerson with the Salvation Army.

Ryerson says they are looking for about 25 volunteers per shift each day. You can visit the link in our ‘Related Links’ section for more information on how to sign up for a shift.
