Sam Houston Rodeo team gears up for Collegiate National Finals

For members of the Sam Houston State University Rodeo team, rodeo and winning is in their blood.
"My parents both did it, so that's what I was around my whole life," said Tacy Webb, a Sam Houston sophomore and rodeo team member.
Now in his 10th year leading the program, head coach Bubba Miller is proud to keep the Bearkat tradition of success going strong. He led the team to a national championship last season.
"This year is the 63rd time that Sam Houston State has been represented at the College National Finals Rodeo," Miller said. "We're excited to go back and win another national title this year."
Winning a second straight title is a task much easier said than done. Miller's team will go up against the best of the best this weekend at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.
"For example, whenever you narrow it down from 120 barrel racers to three barrel racers, and you do that through 10 regions across the United States for every single event, you're taking the best of the best," Miller said. "You better be on your A-Game if you plan on winning."
The College National Finals Rodeo begins Friday, June 8. Events will be streamed online via WatchESPN.
