A lunar eclipse will be visible on Sunday evening, beginning at 9:33 p.m. The peak time to view will be 11:12 p.m. The eclipse will last into the very early hours of Monday morning.

KBTX Chief Meteorologist Shel Winkley explains how a lunar eclipse works in the video player above. He also says the weather forecast for that time frame has clear skies, perfect for viewing the eclipse in the Brazos Valley area.

The eclipse also falls on a super moon, so the moon will appears both larger than normal and a reddish color.
