Sigma Nu Death Investigation: Fraternity house manager arrested

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - College Station Police have released the name of the Sigma Nu fraternity house manager who has been arrested for drug possession following the death of member Anton Gridnev.

Alexander Hadden Statler, 22, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

During a search of the house on August 20, police found various drug paraphernalia in the kitchen as well as in Statler's room.

Police say they also found at least 6.6 grams of marijuana and less than a gram of cocaine inside his room.

The search was part of the investigation into the death of Gridnev. The 19-year-old was celebrating his birthday when he died. Police believe he may have overdosed on several drugs, including ecstasy, hydrocodone, Xanax and potentially heroin.

The investigation into Gridnev's death is ongoing. Multiple arrests of fraternity members on drug charges have already been made.
