COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- College Station police say a gunshot victim showed up at a local hospital Monday afternoon after officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex.

The shooting happened just after 3:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Central Park Lane between Wolf Pen Creek Park and Southwest Parkway.

A motive is unclear and police did not say if anyone is in custody.

Officers said when they arrived at the apartment complex there were no victims but they later learned a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital for treatment shortly after the shooting occurred. A spokesman for the police department said they're still trying to confirm if the victim is connected to the Central Park Lane incident.

Meanwhile, officers have opened Central Park Lane at Southwest Parkway as they continue their investigation.

Residents are being allowed to return home but police are asking that everyone stay away from the crime scene area in the parking lot. Police say at least one vehicle was struck by bullets in the parking lot.

Several residents in the complex have reached out to KBTX on social media and reported hearing multiple shots being fired in the area around 3:00 p.m.
