A new Guinness world record was set at the Spirit of Texas Festival on Saturday.

Volunteers and festival goers helped create the world's longest ice cream sundae at Wolf Pen Creek.

It took 500 gallons of ice cream, 2,000 cans of whipped cream, and 20,000 cherries.

Breaking a record was just one of the many fun things to do at the festival. There were booths for kid activities, food trucks, live music and more.

Spirit of Texas organizer, Cynthia Caronna, said it takes a village to put the event on.

"My favorite part is just the whole community coming together. We have volunteers from Blinn, from A&M, from Mays busineess school from a number of the high schools coming out and creating memories and helping build a festival," said Caronna.

The festival continues on Sunday.
