DOWNTOWN BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX)- After years of stair climbing to the third floor of Mr. G's Pizza, StageCenter Community Theatre is moving to its own building on the corner of North 24th and North Bryan Street.
"This was the previous home of Superior Furniture, but after the owner retired we thought it would be the perfect place to call home, and I know our neighbors nearby agree," said Cindy Roberts, the President of StageCenter Community Theatre.
The new building is still a work in progress but organizers said it's a move that the group has been looking forward to.
"We're very excited to bring something on the north end where downtown has a lot of art and culture and just to have a theater coming farther north is exciting," said Roberts.
StageCenter will continue to practice and perform at their current location above Mr. G's while construction occurs at their new location. The group is hoping to raise money to help with the renovations and they expect to open up to the public towards the end of May.
