We know the stars at night are big and bright here in Texas, so grab your family and friends and head out to a stargazing party to check them out.

A Texas A&M astronomy professor and her students will be on hand with their high-powered telescopes Thursday night at The Stella Hotel to answer your questions about the night sky.

The Texas A&M department of Physics and Astronomy has been hosting star parties on campus for the past several years, but Thursday's event will be the first ever "Star Party" to be held at the hotel.

The event is free for the whole family to attend.

"I really feel like the first time anyone looks through a telescope with their own eye, it's a memorable experience for sure, sometimes it's a life changing experience," said Texas A&M Astronomy Professor Dr. Jennifer Marshall.

There will also be special cocktails and mocktails to try at the event for both parents and kids. The cocktail is called Embers and is a twist on a s'more.

The event is set to happen from 9:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. at The Stella Hotel in Bryan.
