TAMU Corp of Cadets honor fallen with wreath-laying ceremony

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) – The Texas A&M Corp of Cadets honored the fallen Sunday with a special wreath-laying memorial on the corps Memorial Plaza.

The ceremony was led by the Commandant of the Corp of Cadets General Joe Ramirez. Cadets laid several wreaths at 11:11 am. The wreaths were followed by a 21-gun-salute and the playing of Taps.

“These little traditions of commemorating people for what their actions have been and commemorating the university for what we used to be and where our history was, and I think it’s really about what we represent and what people expect of us as keepers of the spirit,” said Aaron Gullickson with the Corps of Cadets.

The ceremonial wreaths were each placed at the Memorial Student Center, Spanish-American War Memorial, the World War I Memorial, and the Post World War II on the Corps Memorial Plaza.
