TAMU Rodeo Club hosting intercollegiate rodeo

BRYAN, Tex.(KBTX) The Texas A&M Rodeo Club is taking over the Brazos County Expo Center this weekend.

Friday and Saturday the club is holding its intercollegiate rodeo. This serves as one of 10 qualifiers for national college finals that are held this June in Wyoming.

More than 15 colleges are competing and 40 of those students are from TAMU.

Whitley Whitewood is the rodeo team president who says TAMU is hoping to come out on top this weekend.

“We had an awesome, awesome fall semester and we've had kind of a rough start to our spring semester but this being our like home rodeo we're hoping we can really get the momentum going again,” said Whitewood.

Saturday's performance starts at 7:00 p.m.

Advance tickets for $8 can be purchased at Cavender's. Tickets will cost $10 at the gate. Students from kindergarten to college can get in for $7 with a student ID, and kids under 4 are admitted for free.
