COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - Exciting new technology was on display at TEEX's Disaster City Friday.
First responders got to see some of the latest technology for public safety and homeland security, including water search and recovery robots.
Nearly 20 companies participated this week as part of TEEX's Under Fire Technology Showcase.
"The intent of 'Under Fire' is to introduce technologies that are very, very on the cusp of market entry, and do everything we can to make sure that our public safety responders have the best tools to do their job," said Caleb Holt, TEEX Project Development Center Manager. "So from here, we're going to try to spend the rest of the spring trying to promote these technologies," he said.
Participants are also awarded prize money for their projects.
On Thursday, companies made pitches for their projects in front of judges and an audience.
