Texas A&M Task Force 1 & 2 activate teams due to storms across the state

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- Texas A&M Task Force 1 and 2 are deploying members across the state as severe weather continues to have an impact on several communities.

The following statement was released to KBTX on Wednesday:

Earlier today, TX-TF1 received a request from TDEM to deploy additional resources in order support communities that have experienced or are forecast to experience significant rainfall, flash and river flooding, and severe weather.

Given the last few weeks of rain and this week’s forecast, TDEM has deployed Texas A&M Task Force 1’s (TX-TF1) Water Rescue Squads, Helicopter Rescue Technicians, and a TX-TF2 Urban Search & Rescue team to support the State.

Additionally, state response partners from the Texas Military Department, the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, and the Texas Department of Transportation have also mobilized resources across the state to support communities impacted by this ongoing weather and flooding.
