Death toll continues to climb on Lake Somerville following fisherman's death

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX) - The latest death on Lake Somerville occurred Tuesday when a fisherman fell out of boat near the Birch Creek area in Washington County.

Authorities are looking for a missing man who was fishing Tuesday afternoon on Lake Somerville

A game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed to KBTX the man's body was found Tuesday evening.

A team will be deployed early Wednesday morning to recover the victim's body from the water.

The man's name is not being publicly released at this time.

This marks the latest death to occur at the lake. A Houston-area man died earlier this month after falling off the back of a jet ski.

In the last 20 years, there have a dozen drownings at the lake. Four have occurred this year.
