With Father's Day around the corner, health experts at the Texas A&M Center for Population Health and Aging are asking you to get creative when it comes to gifts for dad.
"Instead of another tie, take the day to help him remove all his throw rugs that could cause a fall and replace them with some that are non-skid," said Cindy Quinn, Active for Life program manager at the Center.
Quinn also says you could offer an alternative to slippery house shoes, or the installation of grab bars. She says it's also a perfect time to sit down and talk to your aging father about how exactly he wants to age, whether it's in his current home or in the facility of his choice.
"It's all about asking the question, 'What can I give my loved one that really is helpful?'" said Quinn.
