The second week of April is known across the nation as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. They're more commonly called 9-1-1 dispatchers.
The week is celebrated annually and it honors the thousands of men and women who answer emergency calls, dispatch first responders, and render life-saving assistance to those in need of help.
The City of College Station posted this photo to their facebook and twitter accounts this morning morning saying "Thanks to all of our College Station 911 dispatchers -- true first-responders -- for all they do to keep our city safe."
