NAVASOTA, Tex. (KBTX) - This week the Navasota ISD Education Foundation held its annual banquet.

This year featured Jim "Mattress Mac" McIngvale from Gallery Furniture in Houston as guest speaker.

He spoke of his experiences and the importance of community support.
Through the foundation's efforts, more than $720,000 have been returned to Navasota ISD campuses since 2003.

Also in attendance was legendary actor and founder of KickStart Kids, Chuck Norris.

Norris made a surprise presentation of $3,000 to the Navasota Junior High KickStart from the foundation.

That's the amount budgeted for a speaker, which Mr. McIngvale graciously waived.
