TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY (KBTX) - If you have a project around the house you've been putting off, now is the time to receive some help to finish it off.
The Big Event has for decades connected Texas A&M students with people in the Bryan-College Station community, allowing the Aggies one day to come out and help their neighbors with painting, yard work, household projects and more.
Sign-ups are open now for community members who would like to receive assistance during the Big Event. See the Related Links to fill out a job request form.
Big Event: March 30
Sign-ups close: February 8, 5 p.m.
From the Big Event website:
Since its introduction in 1982, The Big Event has become the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation. Each spring, tens of thousands of Texas A&M students come together to say “Thank You” to the residents of Bryan and College Station. For the past 37 years, Aggie students have participated in this annual event to show their appreciation to the surrounding community, completing service projects such as yard work, window washing, and painting for residents of the community. Although The Big Event has become the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation, our message and our mission remains the same – to simply say “Thank You.”
