BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Subway Restaurants in Bryan and College Station are launching a month-long campaign to support local heroes via the Soldier's Wish campaign.

Soldier's Wish is a nonprofit that helps our military members meet their needs through wishes granted in varying ways. This includes things like car repairs, new flooring to allow for increased wheelchair mobility, and housing support.

Nick Harrington of Waco is last year's recipient. He joined us on First News at Four along with a local Subway store manager Katie Chapman.

More information:
Starting Saturday customers will have the opportunity to contribute to the campaign by adding a dollar amount to their purchase at checkout.
Last year's local campaign netted $5,000—enough to award 35-year-old Army veteran, cancer patient and Baylor student, Nicholas "Nick" Harrington with six months of rent.

"We're honored to support the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to make ours safe," said Subway® Franchisee Carwyn Smith. "We want our customers to know that funds contributed to this campaign will be awarded to a local grantee, demonstrating Subway's ongoing commitment to give back to the community where we all live and work."

"Soldier's Wish is proud to work with Subway because by working together we can better serve the unmet needs of our Military Heroes," expressed LTC (R) Mark Ochsenbein, Soldier's Wish.
