Robertson County emergency officials and DPS are responding to a crash involving an Aaron's box truck and a 18-wheeler.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 6 South at Campbell's Creek, just north of Benchley.

The 18-wheeler was parked on the side of the highway due to a flat tire and was waiting on a service truck to arrive. That's when the box truck headed westbound drifted over and hit the 18-wheeler, according to DPS Sgt. Jimmy Morgan.

The crash caused the Aaron's truck to flip over.

It was hauling appliances including refrigerators.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to CHI St. Joseph in Bryan with non-life threatening injuries, and the driver of the boxcar was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries, according to DPS.

Traffic is down to a single lane on both the northbound and southbound sides.
