Deadly two-vehicle crash on Highway 30 kills one person

Authorities have released the name of the driver killed in a morning collision. Highway 30 in Grimes County. It happened around 8:30 Tuesday morning.
According to a spokesman with the Department of Public Safety, Amanda Irish, 20, died on scene following that crash near County Road 190.
Investigators believe she was trying to pass in a no-passing zone when her car crashed into a pickup truck hauling a goose-neck trailer.
The other driver was taken to CHI St. Joseph in Bryan with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 30 near the crash was shut down for several hours while DPS continued its investigation.
