Video from a cell phone app helps identify robbery suspect

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Bryan Police say Snapchat video helped them identify a robbery suspect.

Wednesday night Alexander Castillo was arrested after he allegedly robbed the Fatty's Smoke Shop on Texas Avenue. Police say Castillo went into the store with a gun and demanded money.

According to court documents, the lone worker in the store at the time was able to give a very detailed description of the suspect. She also recorded video of him on the Snapchat app on her phone.

Castillo was found at the Walmart on Briarcrest about an hour after the robbery. Court documents say Snapchat video helped identify Castillo.

Castillo is charged with aggravated robbery and resisting arrest. He also had a warrant out of Burleson County for burglary of a habitation.
