Back in December 2015 we told you about some retail space going in where the Aggieland Inn Conference Center used to be.
Well on Saturday, Wayback Burgers became the first business to open in that center on Texas Avenue.
Wayback Burgers prides themselves on their specialty burgers made with never frozen beef, their hand-spun milkshakes, and their fun, casual vibe!
Other than burgers and fries, they also have chicken and salads on the menu.
"This is a 50's and 60's style diner. We've got the retro stuff going on and we have the music. We have fresh, never frozen beef, hand-spun milkshakes, you can't go wrong with that" said the College Station franchise owner, Michele Wilson.
Michele and Chuck Wilson are both A&M graduates and are excited about their new venture in Aggieland.
"You know being Aggies ourselves, we knew the Aggies would come out and support the new kids in town. We are not new in town, we graduated from A&M and never left the promised land. The people that came out, the love that was shown for us, it was amazing" explained Michele.
National Cheeseburger day is this Sunday September 18th and Wayback Burgers is having a challenge to see who can eat the Triple Triple Burger the fastest!
This burger has nine burger patties, nine pieces of cheese, one piece of lettuce and one tomato!
There is a cash prize for the national winner and for the fastest eater at the College Station location, they are giving away a free burger a month for a whole year!
The Triple Triple costs around $20 and that is all you will need to buy to be entered in the contest.
