Weekend Forecast: storms possible, cooler finish

OCTOBER 20th, 2017 -- Unsettled weather walks us into weekend plans across the Brazos Valley. After a stormy morning, cooler, fall air wraps up the weekend.

Key to the weekend forecast: Yes. Rain & thunderstorms are expected at times. No. Do not cancel plans -- but know that we'll need to keep an eye on things through Sunday morning.

Saturday at the least brings an unseasonably warm, breezy, and humid day with highs topping off in the mid-to-upper 80s. A chance for isolated rain & a few thunderstorms (lightning, brief heavy rain) is around for the afternoon hours -- primarily 1pm to 7pm.

Sunday a cold front is expected to arrive between 5am and 10am. A line of rain & thunderstorms will likely lead that front in -- strong winds & heavy rain possible. That rain chance abruptly ends by noon with clearing skies & breezy winds expected to wrap up the weekend (gusts to 25mph+ possible out of the north). After a quick dip to the 60s around mid-morning, afternoon highs should rebound to the mid-70s.

This will not ruin all outdoor plans this weekend, but for the times noted above, we will need to keep an eye on the weather. More details are waiting for you in the video above.
