It's one of those crimes that could have come from the scripts of a CSI episode, but this really happened on the backroads of Brazos County.

Investigators believe Tanya Albrecht, 28, took a suburban that was being used as a hearse from the parking lot of a Bryan convenience store early Friday morning.

The driver of the hearse, a contractor for Daniel & Sons Funeral Home in Bryan, said he temporarily left the vehicle unattended in the parking lot.

The body that was in the back of the vehicle was dumped along a rural road north of Wixon Valley in Brazos County.

Shortly after noon, the stolen suburban was spotted by a Brazos County Sheriff's Deputy near the Edge community northeast of Bryan.

Inside the vehicle was Albrecht and 27-year-old Adam Crow.

Both Albrecht and Crow are facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Albrecht is also facing a charge of "abuse of a corpse."

Online jail records show both suspects are from Bryan.

The body, which remains unidentified, had been picked up from the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office.
