Police identify woman killed in Wellborn Road crash

Bryan Police have released the name of the woman killed in a vehicle crash Sunday night.
The driver has been identified as Maria Isabel Villarreal, 20, from Waco.
At 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Wellborn Road for a major accident. Investigators say a MINI Cooper was traveling northbound in the outside lane. They believe the vehicle veered across both northbound and southbound lanes of traffic before hitting a tree.
Villarreal was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say she was not wearing a seatbelt.
The passenger was taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital and has been treated and released.
