Your Vote Counts: District 17 candidate David Saucedo

BRYAN, Tex (KBTX)- David Saucedo is one of 11 Republicans running to replace Representative Bill Flores as District 17’s Congressional Representative.

Saucedo is from Waco, Texas. There he is an active member of his community by organizing cleanups, serving on local boards and committees and more with his wife and three kids.

Saucedo participated in the Congressional Candidate Forum hosted by KBTX and KWTX on Jan. 25 held at Texas A&M University’s Rudder Theatre.

On the Issues:

Education: Saucedo believes in teaching and learning beyond the classroom.

"Imagine communities that teach their children that you don't have to have a job for the rest of your life," said Saucedo at the Candidate Forum on Jan. 25.

Economy: Saucedo believes in retaining local wealth and promoting economic mobility.

"Collective income [for 76704] is $18 million for 9,000 residents. Where is our wealth going? How come we are not retaining wealth in our inner cities?" said Saucedo.
