BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX)- On Sunday, hundreds of community members including a few members of the KBTX news crew were at the Ice House on Main to help raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley.

The annual Steak and Shake dinner featured a live and silent auction, raffle, food, and drinks. All of the proceeds made at the event goes towards helping kids.

"Without their support we couldn't do the things that we do and it's clear that they have a passion for youth as well, and so to see them all in one room and to have the opportunity to shake their hand and give them a hug and thank them in person it's a great feeling for us," said Tiffany Parker, the CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley.

This event leads up to the 28th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic that will be held at Miramont Country Club on Monday.

"We've been doing this now for 28 years, and each year it gets bigger and better so I am really excited to see how much we can raise," said Parker.

This year, the organization is hoping to raise more than $140,000.
