Callie Santana, 95, of Bryan passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 2 at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, May 6 with an Alter Society rosary at 4:30 p.m. and evening rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Callie was born October 10, 1922 in Brazos County the daughter of Sam and Rosalie (Messina) Piccolo. She and her husband, John owned and operated Santana's Grocery in Bryan for over 30 years. Callie was lifetime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she served with the Alter Society and Golden Years.
Callie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Santana; brothers, Tony Piccolo, Mike Piccolo and Joe Piccolo; and a sister, Dona Salpetro.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Charlotte Santana; daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and Bobby Stevener, Donna and Barry Bauerschlag; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and LaVerne Piccolo; sister, Mary Serpe; sister-in-law, Louise Santana; grandchildren, Kelly Gould and husband Gary, Kathryn Bonorden and husband Patrick, Karen Thames and husband Colby, Scott Santana and wife Melissa, Colby Santana, Jason Bauerschlag and wife Janua, Matt Bauerschlag and wife Heather; great-grandchildren, Greta Gould, Ethan Gould, Tyler Thames, Callie Thames, Travis Thames, James Santana, Sophie Santana, Seth Bauerschlag, Oliva Rose Bauerschlag, Deacon Bauerschlag and Knox Bauerschlag.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff with Hospice Brazos Valley for their kindness and exceptional care they gave to Callie.
