Fried Chicken and Waffles


Fried Chicken:

4 ea Chicken Breast w/ skin on

2 cups Buttermilk

1 tsp Herbs, assorted dry, thyme is great

1 tsp Cajun Seasoning

½ tsp Powdered Garlic

½ tsp Cracked Black Pepper

Dipping Sauce:

1 cup Honey

1 Tbsp Molasses

½ t Red Chili Flakes 

¼ cup Vinegar (apple cider vinegar works great)


Use your favorite waffle recipe. Try adding a pinch of nutmeg, yeast or malt - or all three. A good waffle recipe, in my opinion, usually has yeast and melted butter in the ingredient list.


Fried Chicken: Mix all ingredients well. Cover and marinate no more than 12 hours (at least 2 hours)

Remove chicken from marinade and pat dry. Place in flour then in egg wash solution (beaten eggs and milk) then back in the seasoned flour. Shake off excess flour and deep fry until golden brown. May require finishing in oven to completely cook. You may pan fry this on the stove instead of deep-frying.
