COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – We still have two and a half months before games begin for the 2018 high school football season, but, living in Texas, high school football is always in the back of our minds.
Here at KBTX we continued preparing for the upcoming year with the photo shoot for the Friday Football Fever Magazine.
The magazine cover will feature a whole lot of defense with Huntsville defensive end T'Vondre Sweat, College Station safety Brandon Joseph, and A&M Consolidated defensive tackle Josh Ellison. The fourth player is Burton's Dee Winters, who is most known for his offense at wide receiver but also plays some pretty good safety for the Panthers.
Winters has committed to TCU, Ellison to Texas A&M, and Sweat to Texas, while Joseph hasn't committed yet but does have a final eight of Arizona, Colorado, Iowa State, Northwestern, Purdue, Texas Tech, Utah, and Vanderbilt.
The quartet is used to making moves on the field. Posing for pictures: not so much.
Winters said, "You know I had a fun time. It's amazing, this was my first one so I'm glad I can get the experience out of the way and hope for more to come."
"It was fun meeting new players that I'll see in the long-run, probably in college play against them," said Sweat.
Ellison added, "Well it was fun, first time doing it but a good experience. Learned a couple of things. They're some jokesters."
Hard to act tough for a football photo when the other guys are making you laugh.
We are still working on the magazine, getting a little closer to finishing day by day.
It will be available in August before the season begins.
