28 teams participates in The Eagle's 6th Annual High School Football Media Day

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The 2019 high school football regular season kicks off on Friday August 30th, which is just four weeks away. On Monday teams that opted to not take part in spring training will open up practice across the state.

Friday morning at Merrill Green Stadium The Eagle hosted its 6th Annual Brazos Valley High School Football Media Day. 28 area programs attended the event that not only allowed the local media to visit with players and coaches about the upcoming season, but also giving the teams a chance to interact with each other.

"I think it is special for the kids to get to see a lot of the folks. Some of them they compete against. Some they read in the paper about, but it is really cool to be able to see the other folks that are in the same shoes and there," said new Caldwell Head Football Coach Matt Langley.

After being able to claim a state champion from 2012-2017 the Brazos Valley came up empty handed in 2018, hopefully some team will re-start the title run this season.
