TEMPLE, Texas (KBTX) -- Behind a 21 point first quarter, the Temple Wildcats outlasted A&M Consolidated 28-20 Friday night in front of a sellout crowd at Wildcat Stadium.
The Wildcats led 21-7 at the half, extending their lead to 28-7 after three quarters, but A&M Consolidated owned the fourth.
Behind a pair of Gage Pahl touchdown passes, Consol got within eight points with 90 seconds left to play. But a game-saving interception by the Wildcats' Dalvin Fillmore saved the day for Temple.
The loss slides A&M Consolidated to 5-1 (1-1). They'll face rival College Station next week.
The win improves Temple to 4-2 (2-0). The Wildcats will travel to Bryan next week to face Rudder.
